Windows Registry
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_RegistryWindows registry stores all application settings in one logical repository (but a number of discrete files) and in a standardized form. You can use the registry editor regedit.exe (carefully) to modify the windows registry.
Why use the Windows Registry
- To get context menu entries to have underline keyboard shortcuts
- To ensure context menu entries picks up directory against which it is right clicked
- To add Add 'Open with ...' to the Context Menu for All Files
